Valley Sleep Center provides pediatric sleep studies in a calm, comforting, home-like environment.

Valley Sleep Center has a pediatric sleep specialist on staff who is excellent with children. For most insurance plans, you do not need a primary care referral to meet with one of our sleep doctors.   If you need an appointment for a pediatric sleep study, please call us at 480-830-3900 or email us

We understand that this may be your child’s first sleep study experience and we’d like to help make it as pleasant and easy as possible.

The study will take place in the privacy of your own room with where you and your child can relax.  Don’t worry, you’re in good hands.  Our experienced sleep technologists will be available through the entire sleep test to help answer any of your questions.”

All patients under the age of 18 MUST have a parent or guardian stay overnight for the sleep test.

The following information contains special instructions and will help you to best prepare for your child’s sleep test.

On the day of your child’s sleep study:

  1. Take routine medication(s) unless otherwise directed by your physician.
  2. Do not take any naps.
  3. Do not consume caffeine after noon.
  4. Eat dinner and shower, removing makeup, lotions, oils, and hairspray.

What you should bring:

  • A completed sleep history and medications form along with your insurance card(s) and a picture ID from the parent/guardian.
  • Any special items that provide comfort such as a blanket, toy, or stuffed animal.
  • A favorite book or DVD for them to enjoy during the hookup process.
  • Comfortable pajamas or a comfortable tee shirt and shorts to sleep in.  (No one-piece “footie” or jumpsuit-style pajamas)
  • Any medications that your child may need before bed or upon waking up in the morning.
  • Any medical equipment or supplies normally used at home for sleep.
  • Extra diapers or wipes if your child is not yet potty-trained.
  • Any personal items such as toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner.
  • Food or snacks for you and your child.

The morning following the study:

  • The study will end between 5:00 and 5:30 a.m.

Be sure to follow up with your referring physician or schedule a follow-up visit with one of our board certified sleep specialists to discuss the results of your child’s study.

"I was especially impressed with Andrew the Respiratory Therapist who reviewed my study with me and answered my questions. Andrew thoroughly explained everything about the Cpap machine-from start to finish. I never felt rushed and was assured I could contact him with any additional questions or needs. Andrew told me he would follow up with a call in a week and he did. I believe this center performed the study appropriately and the added benefit of having Andrew teach me about the machine and what to expect was a bonus."

"I recommend them highly!! I took my 2 year old daughter for a sleep study and was very impressed. Our sleep technician was amazing with her, very patient and kind. The DVD we brought to watch while getting her hooked up got stuck in the TV and they vowed to return it. We got a call the next day checking on our daughter and saying how sweet she was, they mentioned the DVD. Several days later, we received the DVD plus a new copy of the Lion King with a nice note. They are very good at what they do and if they can make a 2 year old feel at ease, they can probably do the same with anyone!!"
