For years (since late 1980’s) I suffered with sleep problems to the point that it was so bad, a few times after being awake for days straight, not knowing what else to do, I ended up in the hospital emergency room where they gave me medicine and put me in a room to let me sleep. Because of other conditions, my PCP at that time had prescribed Benadryl for my sleep problem but it did not always work. In May 2015, after a conversation with a co-worker, I talked to my current PCP about the possibility that I might have sleep apnea and she submitted a sleep study referral to a sleep facility. My first sleep study that confirmed sleep apnea was on June 6, titration study on July 10 and finally August 5, I got a call that titration results were available.

Because things had been moving so slow at the first facility, I had looked into transferring to Valley Sleep Center (Chandler). My insurance eligibility was quickly confirmed and I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Michael Breus on Wednesday, August 12 for a consultation. I was stressed because I felt so awful and the process at the other facility had been moving so slow.

Dr. Breus is very good at putting people at ease and I really appreciated that. That same day, after the consultation he put in a request to order CPAP equipment. To my amazement, two days later on Friday, I got a call that my equipment was in and I made an appointment to meet with Helen Baubie the following Monday. She showed me how to use the equipment and how to maintain it. Helen has been very patient – answering all of my questions and helping me work through issues.

My experience at Valley Sleep Center has renewed my faith that customer caring and service are not just in the past. Less than two week of me placing my call to get things started, I began CPAP therapy. I give everyone I have come in contact with – Michael Breus, Helen Baubie, Janette Buhl, front desk and back office personal five stars. The best news is that after being on CPAP therapy since mid-August, I have not had to take any sleep medicine (prescription or over the counter), I feel rested in the morning and my high energy level is back – I feel better than I’ve felt in years.

The DVD we brought to watch while getting her hooked up got stuck in the TV and they vowed to return it.
