Dr. Jyotsna Sahni

Dr. Sahni has been in medical practice for over two decades. She spent the first 11 years of her career as an internist at Canyon Ranch Health Resort. Since then, she has dedicated herself exclusively to sleep medicine. In 2017, she established her own practice, Swan Sleep Medicine and seven years later joined the team at Valley Sleep Center. Valley Sleep Center is among the prominent sleep medicine practices in Arizona, boasting several locations across the state, including Chandler, Glendale, Goodyear, Mesa, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Sun City, and Tucson. The center provides comprehensive sleep health services, including diagnostics and treatments for various sleep disorders.

When asked why she chose sleep medicine, she often jokes that she couldn’t commit to a single organ. Fortunately, sleep medicine integrates pulmonology, cardiology, neurology, and psychiatry. It’s never boring and requires a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment. To support this, she has been certified in holistic medicine, nutrition, Ayurvedic medicine, and sleep medicine.

Overall, sleep medicine is a rewarding field. When people sleep well, they not only feel more rested but also experience better moods, sharper memories, lower heart risks, and stronger immunity. Dr. Sahni asks for forgiveness for the pun, but improving sleep truly makes a night-and-day difference!

Founder

Lauri Leadley

CCSH, RPSGT, President- Clinical Sleep Educator

My fascination with the physiology of sleep began more than 30 years ago when I was a respiratory therapist and saw a patient with sleep apnea for the first time. It led me to become a sleep technologist. I remember my very first patient who woke up after a sleep study and said, “Wow, I’ve never dreamt before and l last night I had dreams!” It was a turning point in my career.

Our culture, in general, doesn’t recognize the human body’s need for adequate sleep. I was guilty of this for years. Chronic pain has interrupted my sleep and life for as long as I can remember and I continued to ignore it.

It wasn’t until my second cancer diagnosis that I found myself struggling to fall asleep and stay asleep and I knew that the lack of sleep was impacting my body’s ability to heal. I experienced first-hand the results of having a long-running pattern of sleep loss and its effect on my health.

My own health challenges over the years fed my desire to change lives. Now I’d like to help you overcome your battles.
